Sun valley checks all the right boxes. Though the name says homestay but it is clearly a big enough resort. The... experience is that of a homestay as the staff (right from those at the reception to those in the restaurant and even the chef) is exceptionally courteous, well trained and attentive. Food is delicious and made as per your liking. They cater to every tiny request with a smile and that's commendable. The rooms are divided into various blocks so at all times you have complete privacy and doesn't feel like a hotel with a big corridor. Views are mesmerizing from every corner of the property. Also, special mention for how sparkling clean the rooms and bathrooms are, almost fresh as new. A friend recommended this property from 2.5 years ago and the service has only improved over times if at all possible.read more

Lovely homestay. The approach is terrible are there are often jams if big vehicles are around. Get over that initial... hurdle and this place grows on you. Beautiful property. The restaurant has an excellent view and food is regional, fresh and delicious. The hospitality of this place is what will make up come here everytime.The place for having tea is wonderful and a good place to chill and just take in the beautiful views.However, beware. They have recently taken over a building nearby and the rooms there are absolutely horrible. These rooms are dingy, shabby and outright cringe-worthy.read more

Everything about this place is simply amazing - the rooms, the location, cleanliness, service, food, views from the... room. There's nothing to complain about; this place is worth every single penny you pay for. We took the penthouse room which had a beautiful huge patio facing the lush green tea gardens and the hills - simply incredible view! The service was too good - they helped us with sight-seeing recommendations and also arranged a guide for a hiking tour around which was again mind-blowing. The dinner buffet they serve is an additional charge, but has variety and is worth paying for. I will recommend it to all travelling to Coonoor. And if you are a dog-lover, they also have a very adorable and playful Labrador 😉read more

Excellent food. All staffs from Reception, Restaurant and Room Service were friendly and well mannered. Rooms and... Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Excellent view from Balcony. Huge parking facility. All rooms are equipped with Smart TV with high speed WIFI accessibility. Especially the estate walk was awesome. Had a great time at Sunvalley. Had an awesome experience with Sunvalley Homestay. Its amidst tea estate giving you very good view of valley around.... Always smiling and ready to help staff make you feel comfortable. Thanks for making our stay pleasant.Some highlights:1. Rooms are exactly same as shown in pics, thy are neat and clean. Bathroom though small is very hygienic and well maintained.2. Food is extraordinary, thy have mini meals for lunch which mind-blowing and filling.3. You get to walk around the tea plantation.4. Nice place to stay at coonoor. They have tea estate (tea farms) of approx 10kms where you can go for a long walk with... splendid view. Service and food both are good. We had spent two nights & three days looking at the moving mist, grazing bisons and drizzling rains while sipping... steaming coffee. It looked every staff member were competing with each other to demonstrate exceptional support to make us feel at home and they have succeeded. Food? Politeness & friendliness of the men & women at cafeteria matched the culinary skills of the chefs behind the glass wall. A perfect combination of Stay at Home - Sunvalley Homestay. Post Script: if you’re confused about the narrow path leading to the facility, ask the young boys playing soccer or cricket on the road, minimum 6 of them will guide your car as pilots & escorts, at the maximum cost of a word of thanks and a heartfelt smile.read more

Good food, traditional Tamil food plus everything else . Pleasant stay, rooms towering over the tea estates. Free camp... fires in the evenings . Good hospitality also. Couldn't try the spa though due to high demand. Most importantly, No Hidden Charges :). Cab hailing service available to most destinations. THE BEST homemade CHOCOLATES ARE AVAILABLE NEAR THE BOTANICAL GARDENS. Don't buy where you cab driver suggests. I would say that this is one of the best place to relax yourself either with family or friends. It has everything it... needs, good food, perfect ambience, neat rooms and clean bathrooms. There are certain rooms which are inter-connected and is a best room when you stay in group. They are maitaining the resort very well. They have a wide spread tea estate to walk, cycling to burn your calories, beautiful balcony view in every rooms. The flowers, fruits and vegetables are also planted and maintained by the staff there. They have a superman who makes perfect mixes of liquor and serves you cool. When a close associate and family friend referred to this, we had it on our cards once we made the plan for Coonoor.... Were we satisfied? A big YES! It's a fantastic property with sprawling yard, parking space, playzone ( and Outdoors..Yes! Including bikes and badminton), tea garden...you name it! The rooms are excellently maintained, each of them having views. I was a little more fortunate to have my sliding door of the balcony opening to the tea garden and misty Nilgiris. The food is well cooked with a lot of variety, that includes North Indian and Chinese cuisine. All the people were extremely cordial and were happy to go that extra mile for the guests' comfort. Can't comment on the future, but if life gives a chance, I am sure to come back.read more

It was just a weekend trip. We never thought that this trip will be so exiting and an unforgettable one. First of all I... would like to thank the staff members of Sunvalley for being so lovely. Food in sunvally 😋 is so so so yummy. Everyone in my family liked it very much. Rooms and the full resort is maintained very beautifully. Estate walk and Jeep ride was very nice. We booked this after reading the reviews on trip advisor. The approach road is extremely narrow in the last 200 metres.... That puts one in doubt. However, the rooms, ambience and the tea estate outside erase any traces of doubt. Rooms are clean, food is great, there is a fantastic tea estate to walk through, a great walking path and views into valleys full of tea shrubs. Staff is very professional. Highly recommended if you are traveling to Ooty or Coonoorread more

What a magnificent place to stay! It is truly not a home stay it is best class resort. From the day of check in till... check out we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Greenery and well maintained ambience is the first attraction. Secondly a friendly staff and cleanness of the room. It is situated in a beautiful location surrounded with greenery of tea estate. The major point which I need to bring up here is the food... Wow, it is really superb we had a very very delicious breakfast and dinner, hats off to the chefs behind the kitchen. The cafeteria is like a five star hotel neatly maintained and will have the food here by seeing the beauty of nature. Will surely recommend this place to all of my friends who visit the Coonor/ Ooty and this will be my favorite place to stick in my next visit for sure. Place is neat and clean. The surrounding tea estate and mountains look beautiful and the cold breeze is very soothing.... Food provided by the attached restaurant is 8/10. Staffs are very helpful and trained. I lost 2000 rs in the hotel as I left my wallet in a hurry in the room. It wasn't a very big amount but the manager took responsibility for it and returned it. It was a great gesture from the hotel management. Only drawback I felt during my stay was that the rooms aren't so sound proof. Overall it was a nice 2 night stay .read more

All the rooms provide wonderful views of the tea gardens and mountains. Rooms were very clean and fit for purpose. The... complimentary breakfast had plenty of south and north Indian items to choose from and all the dishes were very tasty. Would certainly recommend for a couple or family.read more
